vkc_74 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Hi , I am having a Laptop (XP) which is not having a serial port (as they come with out one nowadays) I want to connect to internet using my FWT . I got a prolific usb to serial convertor cable. Installed the driver for the same. It recognises the phone on com5 port and completes the RConnect S/W installation. But when I try to connect to the internet it gives error 692 : hardware failure I checked the cables they are fine. following is the modem log. Need some help as trying this for quite some time now. Tushar 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Maybe you should try to change the port speed through which your laptop connects to the phone as Reliance LG RD 2030 phones normally use port speed of 38400 bps. I'm not quite sure about FWT but you could try as from what uve posted it seems as if your laptop is trying to comm. at port speed 115200 bps both times. Hope this helps. StaticElectricity 8 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Well, According to the log you have posted the phone seems to be responding, but it is not responding correctly. and are you sure that it is a Standard 19200 bps Modem?? because all other Reliance Phones are Standard 28800 bps Modem. also, try this-> Control Panel->Modems->Standard 19200 bps Modem->Properties->Connection->Port Settings Select 'USE FIFO BUFFERS' And Set The 'Recieve Buffer' to 2 and 'Transmit Buffer' to 3. Select 'OK' Control Panel->Modems->Standard 19200 bps Modem->Properties->Connection->Advanced Now Enable Flow Control If It Is Disabled And Disable If It Is Enabled. Best Of Luck.. rainbow 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2004 Hello, I am having LG LST250 FWT phone. One way to use Rconnect is use the Data cable. That works fine for one of my computer. But.... I want to use it on other computer (Dell lattitude). That computer doesn't have Serial port. However that computer has a modem. Is there a way to connect to RConnect using the computers Modem and LG LST 250. 1) Where to get this Serial to USB cable and how exactly to configure it 2) My Laptop has a Modem, So if I do not want to use USB/ Serial, how to do it. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks RB
