Now, PCO on wheels

In yet another value-added service, the Reliance Communication has come out with mobile PCOs for travelling public.

This facility works on the WLL-FWT technology, which is placed inside the bus and that will enable the needy passengers to make local/ STD/ ISD calls.

Speaking to the media-persons during the launching of the new facility yesterday, V Somasekhar, CEO, Reliance Communi-catione said, 'the idea was conceived long back and it became a reality due to concerted efforts'.

This new facility is a boon to tourists. Moreover, it acts as a Vehicle Tracking Service (VTS) for the tour operators thereby bridging the communication divide'.

Initially this facility is available only in the 100 inter-State buses operated by the Parveen Travels. Very soon this new facility will be launched in other travels and talks are on in this connection.

A Sadiq, owner of Parveen Travels was also present at the function.

The whole ADC issue is now a non-issue as the ADC basis has now been changed from "per-call basis" to "fixed percentage of AGR".

Since March 1, 2006. Around the time when "One India" schemes were launched. Check out this thread. Or search for Access Deficit charge on the forums, we have discussed about it a lot.
