Windows Live Update

Recommended Posts

After i updated my XP through live update, after restart i get a beautiful warning logo that "you may be a victim of software counterfeiting" and the same icon is visible now in my system tray, one of my friend warned me that i may not be able to restart now (means if i reboot it wont as i use pirated XP) so i put my system in hibernate only.

Well I was facing the same problem since the past 20 days almost.I had to completely format my Computer and the problem of those messages have been solved. But now I have completely turned off automatic updates. But when this problem was there I had no problems in restarting my computer.I dont think you should also have any problems. But please do anything on your responsibility.

U'll face no problem ever but will face that screen at each time u start ur windows.

It happens if u r using pirated windows xp.

But there is a workaround for this problem, which can't be shared here. :D

Restore your system to a previous date, disable Automatic updates, and use "Notify me but dont download or install update" and then whenever windows notifies you, do not choose the WGA update.

For using Windows applications on Linux, you can use WINE or VMware or Bochs or Win4Lin or the new CrossOver Office from CodeWeavers which is based on Wine. Wine, in turn, is an implementation of the Windows API on top of the Unix/Linux operating system family.
