GSV13 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2006 (edited) Actually its not to blame Mtnl the real culpritis is vsnl with its monoplistic practices it try to block all the bandwidth allowed in India. Do you know that a t1 line still cost 1million$ from mumbai_singapore where as you could get singapore-LosAngeles(three time the distance) at tenth price or even below that. But hope after the completion of falconn line by flag(Reliance) and order of entry to landing station of vsnl(mumbai)by international authorities may heat up the competetion As wholesale bandwidth prices drop retail will all not far. Future is Good Edited July 21, 2006 by gavnitsingh
linuxguy 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2006 these buggers have hordes of bandwidth but they wont release any for us! artifical scarcity of bandwidth !!!!!!!!
Arun 795 Report post Posted July 22, 2006 They get more bucks if they sell that bandwidth to other countries. Just like FLAG Telecom recently signed a deal to provide 40 giga bytes of international bandwidth to China Netcom and Batelco of Bahrain has also selected FLAG for its international circuits for voice telephony. deepu 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2006 Hi I am in UK now. Here we are having a virgin broadband connection. 8MBPS unlimitted. But till now it has not connected above 4MBPs. They have confirmed that its due to the limitation of the telephone cable. It comes around 25 GBP per month. Plus the telephone line rental is another 15 GBP. Most other service providers have 12 months minimum contract period.
