gtkfreak 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2006 Thanks for such a wonderful forum. I am a user of Fedora Core 5 using kernel 2.6.16-1.2111. I get very good connection speeds and no problems of any type. I have configured the RConnect as per instructions given at this site. I have also disabled IPv6, making relevant entries in the relevant configuration files to ensure that it is disabled. However, of late, when upgrading the kernel to 2.6.17-1.2157, R Connect becomes extremely slow and barely crawls. If I revert to the old kernel 2.6.16-1.2111, it works lightning fast. Any ideas, where the problem could be? Would request any assistance to increase speed.
linuxguy 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2006 might be some driver / kernel bug. the latter seems less likely. check out the kernel's change log. remember, Fedora / Redhat kernels are highly patched - 200+. So it can be any number of factors. Best is to refer this matter to kernel maintainers.
