Centre announces package of Rs 500 crore for flood-hit Gujarat

However, from the funds released (150 cr. released till yesterday), it seems that nothing is being punched into the region by the state !! (friends in Surat says that minimum help from the government is available and they r mainly surviving on water and food packets distributed by local agencies)

Is there some way by which we can jointly ensure that we v can reach to the Centre and help to stop the pathetic corruption down here specially when many r suffeing!

Pls guide if there is any option at the centre like CMO's office with RIC )

Right to Information Act seems to be the only legal way in which you can find the whereabouts of the distribution of the funds, but by the time you get the "information", the floods would have done its damages. Better not to wait for Government help and try your best to help your friends/neighbours. Well, our government does su*k in such emergency situations

I've seen in NDTV as scroll advertisement that "Reliance is the only operational network in South Gujarat during the floods", a couple of days ago. Was it true ? other networks were totally down or was Reliance making a false statement there ?

Atleast for Surat that was true...all other networks were unoperative except that I was able to contact friends only on Reliance!
