Mah Rating In Li-ion Batteries

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Can I use higher mAh rating Li-ion batteries in my phone? For eg. my phone (LG 5340) has 800 mAh battery, can i use 1000mAh battery coming with LG 6230 in my phone. Just to increase the battery usage life.

I guess you can, as long as current & voltage ratings are identical.

Otherwise, Li-Ion are very sensitive & delicate and they could even blow up iwhen wrong charging current is applied.

voltage rating is strictly 3.7 volts for most phones and current rating can vary anywhere between 600~1400mAh. Using a higher current battery does not give any problems with the same charger but may take a little more time to get charged than the lower rated battery.

By the way which handset are u trying to do this?

:'(

:Riendo:

I have LG 5340 with 800 mAh battery.

With LG handsets I have seen that 800mAh battery in 5340 is having the same size of 850mAh battery of 6130, which my brother have, i have to check the 1000mAh battery in 6230 for size.
