prakashkadam 1 Report post Posted August 23, 2006 Hi all, Can I use higher mAh rating Li-ion batteries in my phone? For eg. my phone (LG 5340) has 800 mAh battery, can i use 1000mAh battery coming with LG 6230 in my phone. Just to increase the battery usage life. -prakash
amtrag 20 Report post Posted August 23, 2006 I guess you can, as long as current & voltage ratings are identical. Otherwise, Li-Ion are very sensitive & delicate and they could even blow up iwhen wrong charging current is applied.
Ganesh 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2006 You can defenitly use but check whether the higher rated battery will fit inside the phone

Ganesh 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2006 voltage rating is strictly 3.7 volts for most phones and current rating can vary anywhere between 600~1400mAh. Using a higher current battery does not give any problems with the same charger but may take a little more time to get charged than the lower rated battery. By the way which handset are u trying to do this? :'(
