How To Increase Port Speed In Winxp

Does any one have any idea on how to increase to port baud rate to 230400bps in WINXP? When i was using Win98 i had option to increase to this level, but i don't see it in Winxp.

I think it depends on the modems capability..

When I was use LG (FWP as well as 6130), the port connection speed is 120kbps, but when but I use samsung A563, the speed is 230400bps.

Well, my Nokia modem supports upto 230400bps. But i think there should be some tweak for this.

Modem speed ? Do u think modem has 230 kbps speed.No dear it's only baud rates (rate at which two modems handshakes).

i have observed sometimes the download speeds bursts upto 230kbps. on average i get 128kbps to 144kbps was wondering is this because of baud rates?

u can download it for free.Install it and u can use it to take ur modem for a rollercoaster ride above 115.2K

Hey here is your answer

Ypu can increase the speed as showm in the screen shots

you would have to go to control panel---->phones&Modems---->"select the modem"----->"click on Nokia modem properties--->again go to modem tab---->there you can find the option for changing port speed

But it will be limitted to your nokia handset speed

I don't think increasing speed of the USB port means you can increase speed of R Connect. However it may give little improvement. It is the port speed of PC & can connect to your phone at that speed. If the speed of modem(phone) port is less than the data transfer shall take place at lower of the two.

I use 460800 for my LG 6600 through blue tooth.

For better speed

01. Under modem configration deselect " modem compression" & "modem error control"

02. Under PPP setting select "enable software compression"

03. Install the latest "Netbooster" for RCOM site

You should get good speed
