Seems to be a prank!! In anycase, you can check up with Airtel CC and ask them abt it, provide them the number from which this person called you! Let us know what happens.

Right.

Interconnect charge itself is 30p and in STD, there is NLD carrier charge in addition to this 30p. So, even STD @30p is below cost...and to top it all: No incoming charge while roaming???

Sounds fishy.

most of the things in this plan are true, but there is one condition which i dont think was told, you have to make a minimum transaction of Rs.5000 per month on the airtel demo card,or else ur card will become normal card.many people have been earlier fooled by mobile dealers by selling them prepaid airtel demo cards for Rs1500 to 2500 which worked for a month @0.30 paisa per minute to any local mobile and later on the following month they would recieve sms saying that this month there has been no transaction on ur card so ur card will be deactivated. In the other prepaid demo card there should be a minimum of Rs.1000 per month of transcaction.

Transaction means recharging other prepaid cards thru ur demo card and also providing other value added services.

I believe this is some sort of gimmick by the airtel people to indirectly promote thier service.

Ok, I just tried. I suggest others should also try this.

Called up Airtel CC Delhi. At first, this girl said that Sir, you would have to wait for another call from the same guy as we cannot give any info on this plan. I said that I doubt the authenticity of this offer and thats why I am calling directly. She put me on hold, checked with the backend team and then said that she had confirmed from the backend team and they were indeed giving VIP Plan to a selected database but still I should check the id-proof of the executive when he comes to take my documents. Then, I should ask him the FORM NUMBER and verify from Airtell CC on my own. When I said that earlier one of my friends had taken a similar offer and then he got the message for Rs 5000 transaction, she said that she is actually not sure of this offer and shall give me a callback in next 24 hours.

Request other members also to try their respective Airtel CCs and find out what's going on..

Seriously? How much will a Hutch / Orange democard cost in Bombay? What are the costs? Let me know :rofl_200: Yes, I've had trouble with Hutch CC too but there are people who actually listen. In Airtel its not so...

both demo cards are different, and even the new hutch demo cards get normal after a few months if they r not used to refill other mobiles, people having older hutch cards r lucky.but in the case of airtel prepaid demo cards it becomes normal prepaid card after a month or so.

Actually the demo cards are sold by the distributors to mobile shop owners if they agree to buy a certain nos of airtel prepaid activated card, the mrp of the prepaid demo card is Rs.200 but the mobile shop owners sell it for a good amount seeing the customer.

The best demo card is bpl in mumbai no lafda at all.
