mn888 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) I got a reliance netconnect card a couple of weeks back. The first shock was the extremely horrible speeds, no where near to the much touted 144 kbps. Well!! I decided to live with it, as I need wireless connectivity in any case, and no alternative seems to be available. The biggest shocks started a couple of days back, when my netconnect connection was deactivated by Reliance for no reason whatsoever. I have paid a deposit of 1,500, and have paid the first month’s flat rate amount of 1,500 in advance so it definitely cannot be a pending bill. And even if that were the case, I would have been surprised to get my phone disconnected without any advance notice. Well! I tried the call center, and gave up after 45 minutes of "All operators are busy" announcements. Then, leaving all my work behind, i went to the Reliance Web World Office, where they were unable to tell me why the card has been deactivated. They then asked me to leave my contact number behind, so that they can get the error rectified, and give me a call in the course of the day. Come evening,no call, no re-activation. I went to the web world a second time, this time I was told that the service will be back the next morning. Come next morning - no call, no reactivation (forget an apology). I called the web world, and was told that the activation will be done by the afternoon. Afternoon - No activation. I have been trying to call them since then, but they have apparently decided not to answer any phone calls. All throughout, this process, I have been very polite to the Reliance people. And to their credit, the web world guys at least gave no cause to complain in this regard. But apart from that I have only been facing anxiety and harassment. Given the fact that I have already paid Rs. 5,000 for the net card, and the 3,000 for the deposit+fees, and Reliance simply does not give me the option to return the card, and get back my money, my financial losses are immense. Additionally, I am more or less certain that I would not get a solution to this case of a "breech of contract" and daily harassment through the dilly-dallying without resorting to the legal course. I can only advice the reader’s of this forum to keep my experience in mind before becoming an easy prey for the cheating ways of- and complete disregard for your respect, & time by reliance infocomm. prathod 3 Report post Posted September 23, 2006 Did u write to chairmans office. Else try that Writing to the chairman's office is of no use as the complaints to the chairman's office is attended by customer care only and expect reply after a week or so,gone are the days when chairman's office was the only hope to get justice. Its a fact that Mukesh Ambani was the best Chairman Reliance communication had. And now the most hated companies atleast in Mumbai are Reliance Energy and Reliance communication.
mn888 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2006 I will give writing to the chairman's office a try, but harrasement and exploitation seems to be the company philosophy. I don't expect any respite. In the meanwhile my work is suffering. I tried calling their chief grievence officer for the circle, in Pune (as given on theirs and TRAI's website). The phone rang 3 times, and was cut-off. The screwing and looting attitude seems to be actually encouraged from the top.
mn888 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 (edited) Day 8: After writing to chairman, another blow out of the blue: Reliance wants me to pay up another 1700 Rs. because according to them, I have exceeded my volume limit. Interestingly, I have paid for a flat rate, for the entire month. Thanks, for nothing. Mr. Ambani!!!! Can anyone guide me, how to approach the Consumer court/forum. KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 Jai ADAG Reliance. They have now perfected the art of looting and screwing up customers. They do not want the old customers now as they are a loss to them. They only want newer customers whom they can fleece royally. Enjooooooooooooooooooooy the new Reliance - think better, think bigger by looting and screwing customers royally. And yes, the Chairman's office is now redundant. The emails sent to this ID will bounce back with the cryptic response, "domain not found" and in any case, gone are the days when the CMO used to be working effectively and efficiently. It is now certain that ADA does not have any time at all for RCL and he has allowed all his cronies to f**k up the company and all their customers royally. Thanks khs123, good to know that I am not alone in being screwed by Mahatma Ambani. :-) This is the sms, I just received on my netconnect card: "Dear Reliance Customer your account usage is high. Please pay Rs.1768.9 to continue enjoying uninterrupted services. Thank you." high usage on an unlimited account. Interesting. And how come, this high usage has been discovered only after a week of de-activation, and 10s of rounds to the webworld, with the entire reliance mechanism unable to know, why in the whole world has the connection been de-activated. Further, how comes, this sms comes after I write to Mr. Ambani requesting assistance. (Thanks, Mahatma Ambani, you are doing wonders dismanteling Gandhiji's "Bura Mat Dekho", "Bura Mat Suno", "Bura Mat Bolo". You say,of course - nothing against "Bura mat karo" :-). And atleast you are following "Bura mat Suno" - No valid complaint is entertained. And yes, the sms is dated 31st December 2000. Very interesing.
lostjournal 7 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 (edited) i had a similar problem activating my number on a new handset (when my old one was stolen). the webworld people were all helpless. i wrote a mail to all the places at one go----> customercare@relianceada.com serviceassurancecell@.. mary.chadrasekar@..(she is the circle officer as per the website) corpcentre(thru the website itself) and one to wecare.karnataka@relianceada.com( this is also circle specific, check for your circle). i used comma separated format so that all of them know that this mail is also being sent to various offices which stand either above or below in hierarchy. :'( :'( the next morning my problem was solved(i wrote the mail at night). also the following morning i recieved calls from all over.. here bangalore's local office.. from mumbai's head office..one more from some restricted no. try this... KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 maybe your problem was at a time when the CMO used to work, not now. I used to employ the same method - addressing the email to various email IDs openly (cc) and not by bcc. It used to work even two months back, but nowadays it does not work at all and the CMO is closed down and replaced by cronies who do not have any knowledge at all. mn888 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Dear lostjournal, Thanks for your reply. I am sorry for not writing back earlier. I have a month and ahlf deadline for completing my field work, and that is why in the first place, I had purchased the netconnect card - to be online, even when I am on the move. I will give your suggestion a try, but I do not think Reliance will be moved. They have finally changed the reason, why I should pay - from crossing the limit of an unlimited account :-) to not giving back the handset, when the reliance cellphone connection was changed from post-paid to pre-paid. Intrestingly, the connection was transfered from post-paid to pre-paid at WebWorld, with all costs immeditely paid. (Can you imagine, Reliance not taking up an opportunity to fleece money out of you). So the reason for disconnecting the netconnect card now is that we should have returned the handset, while changing it to pre-paid, in spite of paying up all the required transaction amounts, and the webworld guy giving it a an all OK/No Problem/Thubs Up. Even if I manage to prove it wrong (like I did with crossing the limit of the unlimited account), they will come up with a fine of maybe 10,000 rs., because I sinned by getting born in a world where ADA already exists. In the meanwhile the netconnect card remains disconnected, the sms demanding 17,00+ is still around, promising me "uninturrupted" service, if the money is paid. I am beginning to feel, that I just can't win. After all, Reliance will never fall short of customer's to cheat. I really have to concentrate on my field-work, and that means Reliance has a free field to conntinue screwing me up. Thanks khs123, fo confirming that ADA and cronies will never let a chance of exploiting go away. Maybe they need the money to get some more orgs like TRAI to kiss their feet, or maybe they need it for the UP elections :-)
nitinmukesh123 11 Report post Posted September 27, 2006 Hi,I am a reliance user from more than 6 months. On 26th Oct I have applied for Freedom@Night* plan by calling one of your customer service executive. He told me that it will be activated with 5-6 hours. Within 2-3 days I have called up 2 more time to verify that the plan is activated or not and every time they told me that it is activated. Now I received the bill with Data usage charges. I am not going to pay the bill unless it is corrected or else i will go to consumer forum. other details...... After 2 days of calling C.Care i write this mail to customercare@relianceinfo.com And they replied in 2 hours and correct my bill.. Do not even think you are going to contact decently they are going to answer. Just send a threat and see the results.
mn888 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 This is incredible!!!! Reliance never started my connections, and I being busy with my PhD almost 16 hours a day have no chance to go to court. Harrased upto the end, I paid up Rs 1,700 extra for the month's bill, and the strange amount they asked me to pay (conversion of a pre-paid mobile to post-paid mobile donemore than a year back) another almost 2000 Rs. The post-paid to pre-paid conversion was done in Reliance WebWorld, with all dues paid, and was functioning normally for a year. There were no dues associated with it. Reliance cooked up a story to loot more money. I had to pay, having no choice. But after more than a week of payment, they did not start the netconnect connection. Today, my retired mother went there to ask them, what the case was. She was assured that the connection will start today. This evening, I have been sent another bill by SMS asking me to pay up another 1700 Rs., towards the usage charges for the non-functional netconnect card. I don't know what to do. One thing, i am sure of - One cannot fight against the corrupting power of ADA and cronies. Tomorrow, I will go and pay up the 1700 rs., and somehow get the conenction closed. I want to concentrate on my work, and even if they take the money, and close the connection for ever, I will have to otherwise I can forget my PhD. This is my story. The reader can make up her or his mind to take up the connection or not. Maybe they are in a better position to fight back if such a thing happens. I cannot, and I tired of being abused, and cheated by Reliance.
