Welcome to RUIUC*! CHEERS!

No solution for slow speed! They tell Wireless CDMA is around 114kbps but overall speed we get is 32kbps which is less than DialUp. Sometimes it may show 100kbps but try using a Download Meter and see yourself. You are never above 32kbps.

But what I likemost about this is, we are always on Internet in any part of the country, even remote villages with Reliance Network. So we never miss the major emails or work.

Rohit, pls call *333 (you can use your ZTE card for this) and this shall be resolved from backend.

Manoj, pls do not insert the card first. Insert the software CD forst, let it auto-install. At one stage, it will ask you "Insert the Data Card Again". Just insert the card, rest will install automatically.

All the best!!

Reliace offers another card EC321 of huawei that works with linux. I also went with a wrong buy and now stuck with zte card on windows only. If anyone wants to buy my zte card, I am ready to offer heavy discount.

hi,

since BSNL has upgraded existing users to upto 2MB speed, RIM seems to have done some tweaks to their NET Connect card atleast, I used to get 20kbps on this stupid ZTE MC315 Card on my compaq lappy, now iam getting 115 - 130kbps, and thats not all, I never saw download speed more than 4kb on rim, now its 13-15kbps almost 24hrs constant.

I've been Heavy RIM User until the broadband cameup but now i am able to work out of my place cause ZTE speeds lets me access all my office controls from remote locations.

Attached a screen shot, hope you all would be able to test your speed on RIM using speakeasy.net/speedtest/ and post a screenshot for all our loving members.

bye,

ghpk

Enjoy Surfing net with ZTE-MC315 datacrd on Linux.

I have tested, this technique on RHEL4AS,and Ubunto. And on both os was itt was working good.

Some time while running "reliace" , it not get ip in first run... so you may have to run it again and again, till u get connected.

Make sure that u have setserial rpm installed.
