abhisheksomani 1 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 hi.i own a nokia 6265 cdma handset. the camera button on side of the set recently stopped functioning so i dropped in at the local nokia care centre.there was a long waiting. i asked the security gaurd, he issued me a no & said i'll be through in half hour. in the half hour that i waited, the line moved by just 5 persons and my no was 15 places ahead.that'd have taken another 1 1/2 hrs. since i'm a busy doctor and don't have such time to spare, i returned. next, i sent the handset with a friend and asked him to get it repaired. this time, since he had more patience, he did manage to talk with service guys and they told him that they'd need atleast 5 working days to get my handset repaired(if it was repairable) or 45 days to get it replaced. i must say that this is stretching the things too far. imagine that you are not able to reach your doctor cuz his mobile has been in repairs!! there is another nokia care centre at nagpur which is less crowded but these fellas don't accept cdma handsets! next, i asked at a local repair shop. they told me that they can repair it but then, my warranty would be void. now i'm in a fix. what's the use of buying such expensive handsets when 1. they get damaged so easily. 2. proper service facilities are not available. 3. the fellows sitting there don't know what's the meaning of customer service. i must say that i've previously owned handsets from LG, SONY, SAMSUNG but in none have i ever encountered such a problem, either in handsets or in services. please give me a fast nad valid solution to this problem. rajeevjee 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Dear Mr. Somani, NOKIA has been displaying quite a high-handed approach all-over India when it comes to after-sales. They being the market leader (don't know why people still DEMAND Nokia over other manufacturers) have strategically decided to have minimum number of service centres (LG has 5-7 times more service centres for CDMA sets as compared to Nokia). No wonder you found long queues. In my view, you do not have any other solution...you are just at their mercy (even Reliance staff would not be able to interfere/ help). Best is to discard this Nokia set and get your number transferred into some other make set. But, that would be a very costly affair. Or, you may try to find a second hand BLANK Reliance set from the market, use a HCC (Rs 25) to transfer your number onto this second hand set till such time Nokia repairs your set. Then, once you receive back your repaired set, you can again use a HCC and transfer your number back to Nokia...All the best buddy!!

Honest 836 Report post Posted October 17, 2006 In my opinion Samsung & LG both provides world class after sales services through there service centres, which are quiet good in numbers for both (LG & Samsung). Regards.
