Yahoo Messenger With Voice On R Connect

Is anyone using r connect for yahoo messenger? I have no idea how much bandwidth a voice and webcam chat consumes,so can anyone tell if r connect on fwp will be able to support voice and webcam chat?

Hi,

yes I am using it through my fwp without any problem though voice chat is ok... webcam chat is a bit slow.

Thanks for the reply, you mean the refresh rate is slow. but it would also depend on the connection speed on the other end isnt it?

Ya depends on the connection speed at the other end too.

Voice chat works perfectly for me .....

Webcam chat yes refresh rate is slow.

Hello my dear friends.

I am also using the same without having any problems. Both Voice and Webcam works fine at my end. And refresh rate is also good.

Yes...Yahoo written chat, audio (voice) chat plus webcam is absolutely like one-to-one video conferencing using RConnect. Sometimes it dips, but most of the time, it's good. If you are thinking of using the same for foreign tutors thing, well, not feasible; but for personal talks, good choice !!

It really depends on where you are.

In Navi Mumbai, I've seen the connection speed fluctuate alot from 8kbps to 144kbps! So the speed of things is affected accordingly. I've use Yahoo's webcam and Google Talk for VOIP both work pretty well for the most parts.
