Honest 836 Report post Posted November 19, 2006 ^^^ @drali2 My dear friend first of all let me tell you one thing, that its totally unsafe to ask / discuss about piracy in this forum. As discussing about pirated softwares / its pros and cons and so on, can be very harmful for the reputation of rimweb.in as well as for you also. As you must be aware that this forum is a neat & clean forum and discussing about piracy is banned here. It hurts your reputation with other members also. No matter what you are using at your place. But try not to discuss / ask here about pros and cons of pirated softwares and alike. Regards.

Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted November 20, 2006 1.) To save Automatic Updates: First open System Properties (sysdm.cpl) and goto Automatic Updates tab and now select option Notify me but don't automatically download or install them and apply it. Now whenever there will be any update available, a pop-up appears in system tray notifying u that there are updates available to download just click on Download button and then again it'll notify u after downloading to install them. Now the hack is this, all updates will be downloaded to following folder: %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\Download now u can save all files/folders under this folder and can reinstall all updates in case of a fresh installation of XP Just run the update.exe file in update folder under each folder! PS: You can also download Autopatcher, which contains all updates and installs them automatically! 2.) Saving AVG updates Just goto following folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data\upd7bin If C: is ur system drive, if u hv installed Windows in any other drive, then replace C: with that drive name! Now under this folder u'll get all updates, which hv been installed! Just make a backup of this folder for future and whenever u want to update the AVG in a fresh installed system or any other system, just right-click on AVG icon in system tray and then select "Check for updates" and then give the path of the backup folder! This is what I know about all ur question, hope it''ll help U

Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted November 20, 2006 I'm glad that I could help U Regarding to the updates, just try to run "update.exe" file from any of those folders, if the file launch the wizard to install the update and finish installing update without any problem, then it means it contains the full download. So u can safely take a backup of those folders too
