Please Help With Data Card/sierra Card

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I am a new member.

I want to use R Connect Platinum 100 plan which comes with Sierra Card for a monthly rental of Rs.1500 and unlimited surfing. Please let me know if I can avail this plan on desktop computer. I have a desktop computer with Windows XP, 604mb RAM and Pentium 4 processor.

Somebody said me that data cards are only available/works with laptop. Please let me know if data cards work with desktop. Thank you.

Also let me know if it is not availble then how can I avail 24 hours unlimited internet with postpaid or prepaid connection for a particular fixed tariff rate. (Not 50p per minute). Thank you.

With a 'PCMCIA card adapter for desptop', you can get the sierra card (and most other PCMCI devices) work on your desktop.

Or you can get the new EC625 USB card, which will work as well with desktop PCs. Though the card is in short supply and you might have to run around a few WWs to get it.

Thanks.

Can I avail Platinum Plan 100 internet plan with EC625 USB card?

Actually I do some online content writing job, and I need all day internet without continuous connection errors as I face now. So I am planning to opt for reliance Platinum 100 plan.

Also can you guys please suggest me which brand of 'PCMCIA card adapter for desktop' will work best with sierra card?

A hardware seller said me abt G520+ PCMCIA card. Is it any good?

Thanks.

You can opt for any of the Data based plans mentioned here (under: For Reliance Netconnect Card only). Platinum plan doesn't have any limit at all. If you opt for Freedom plans, make sure you have an eye on the data transfer per month.
