Recommended Posts

i am a new user-new user of a reliance phone, and new user of a pc.

i have fwp LSI 110. i am unable to configure my email client -- i dont know what to enter in the fields asking for pop3 and smtp server names, i have tried rconnect.com with no results.

can anyone advise me?

It depends on your email id/provider

For example if your email id is XXXXXX@yahoo.co.in, your pop3 will be pop.mail.yahoo.co.in and smtp will be smtp.mail.yahoo.co.in (yahoo india uses port no 587 for smtp)

The settings are different for yahoo.com and yahoo.co.in and other regional yahoo ids

get the settings from your emal provider for pop3 access and accordingly feed it in your email client.

Buddy, if you have a vsnl/ mtnl email id configured in your outlook express, there is very less probability that you would be able to use internet connection of some other service provider to send emails.

I assume that you have a non-reliance email configured...right?

Now, try pop.reliancemail.net in "Incoming Server" and smtp.reliancemail.net in "Outgoing Server" settings. You should be able to at least download your non-reliance emails in your outlook. It might work for sending mails as well (I am not sure coz I tried some similar settings and was able to SEND also but that was last year).

Try these, and let me know the progress.

thanks a lot guys, i did figure out finally what was wrong, i was entering 'reliance' where i should have used gmail. it is fine now, but i am troubled by this prepaid phone-- the net usage balance is not updated regularly, so i cant track how they are deducting so much money for so little usage. the customer care doesnt reply, and i am spending 1000 bucks per month for using few minutes per day... is that how it is suppossed to be?

thanks, that was helpful. i had been writing reliance where i should ve written gmail.
