Sadikk 301 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 Now people transfering data through WAP/RWorld will be charged 10P per 10KB. For me, its costly. What u guys think???
Honest 836 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 ^^^ Exactly my dear Munnamobile you r right here. It will be very costly for all of us. I think Reliance is following GSM operators. All GSM operators like Hutch and Airtel are charging the same amount. Regards.

prathod 3 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 I had warned everyone, not to ask and write, when they were writing to chairman'soffice and customercare regarding wap charges, and now maybe after recieving all the queries they must have found charging for wap would generate good revenue. The rate is same as what hutch is charging.

nitink 279 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 did u guys get an sms? yeah, got it y'day here goes the sms Dec 7, 8:55:48 pm Enjoy as many as 70 service free of content charge on RWorld from Dec 20. Network Usage charge 10 paise per 10kb apply on RWorld Reliance
KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 Finally they found a way to charge for WAP, albeit by charging even for RWorld. So the CC/HL people told me the correct story, on 16th Aug.2006, that since Reliance was unable to split the usage for Rworld and WAP, they could not introduce billing system for WAP separately. Now, what about the rentals? will it be free? And at 10p/10kb, it is expensive (both for the eyes and the pocket) to browse on a small mobile screen. How will they calculate the usage? This may lead to a fresh round of acrimony between the user and reliance over excessive billings. I checked today with the CC/HL and as usual they do not know anything about this. They do not know what is WAP at all, leave alone charges. I have forgotten the name of the CCE who gave me the earlier correct info. Anyway, lets wait and watch what happens. Reliance is slowly pulling out all stops (or is it sops?) and trying desperately to increase the ARPU at any cost. "If old users are unhappy with the changes in charges, they can very well get out of the Reliance network", is the new mantra now. I had sent an email for exiting from the FWP services and the reply I got was the procedure for exit and the exit policy. Any other telecom company would have called up and expressed regrets /enquired as to why I wantto exit. But not Reliance. They do not want older customers because they are enjoying a lot of free goodies. If newer customers are available with no free frills, why keep old customers? Let them go, if they want, is their new policy. Thanks.
