Samsung has exhibited its new Samsung SCH-i760 communicator. It was rumored as the device for the American operator Verizon Wireless, powered by the next operating system – Windows Mobile Crossbow Pocket PC. The communicator is equipped with two keyboards – a digital one under the display and a QWERTY side sliding keyboard. It supports CDMA 1x EVDO standard. :GirandoOjos:

The device features a 1.3-megapixel camera with video capture opportunity, a 2.8” QVGA (240x320 pixels) display (landscape and portrait modes). It carries 64 MB RAM and 28 flash ROM onboard and an expansion slot for microSD cards. There is the support of streo sound transfer via Bluetooth (A2DP profile).

The SCH-i760 is powered by Windows Mobile for PPC PE. There is no number of the serie :NOTriste:

this is some more info i could find after a quick search. :confuse:

by the way i have one more handset that is sch i830 quad band, supports both GSM and CDMA and is supposed to hit US market by the time holidays :confuse: arrive there. :Confuso:

'With quad-band GSM/CDMA and EV-DO for high speed data transfer, Samsung's thumbboard-equipped SCH-i830 communicator is slated for US shelves in time for the holidays.

At its annual technology conference in Dallas, Texas, Samsung today unveiled several new handset models including the Windows Mobile powered SCH-i830 communicator. Offering quad-band CDMA with EV-DO for fast data transfer speeds, the slider form factor device is a successor to the SCH-i730 which made its official debut at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Equipped with a QVGA display and running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, the SCH-i830 mainly differs from its predecessor through the inclusion of quad-band GSM and CDMA support, remaining otherwise identical to the SCH-i730. This includes its 2.8-inch QVGA display and integrated thumbboard, as well as 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of non-volatile memory.

Other highlights of the device include Bluetooth support, as well as an SDIO capable SD/MMC card expansion slot and dual stereo speakers with SRS TruSurround, speakerphone capabilities and more.

Due for availability in the US in time for the holidays, Samsung did not indicate which carrier would be offering the SCH-i830. The Samsung SCH-i730, however, has been exclusively available from Verizon Wireless, indicating a likelyhood that the SCH-i830 might also be offered by this carrier'

What a better way to usher in the Crossbow Age than with this hot little number from Samsung? Roc A Fella and HTC Kid have again hooked us up with some details on the CDMA rendition of its i760 Pocket PC phone, taking on a decidedly different appearance from its GSM cousin by pushing the keypad to the right and the directional pad to the left. It looks like Verizon is all lined up to get this bad boy come Q2 of next year, packing a little next-gen Windows Mobile action in the process (though what we've seen so far suggests it ain't much more than a reskin). Specs (for those who can't be bothered to peep the image) include 128MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM, 802.11b / g, microSD expansion, and a sliding QWERTY keypad. Mix in just a touch of that glorious EV-DO broadband, and it looks like we've got yet another winner in Verizon's '07 bumper crop -- if Crossbow stays on schedule, that is.

As per Packet Left Bottom Label it seems it will launched in USA in Second Quarter

Samsung i760 for Verizon: yep, it runs Crossbow

i760-crossbow-itw-1.jpg

Every time we see Crossbow, we're reminded of something else... oh yeah, that's right, Windows Mobile 5. Don't get us wrong, it looks a little slicker, but the i760's attraction is more likely to lie the hardware itself -- not the ultra-mild update to the Pocket PC Phone Edition guts we've loved (and hated) for the past couple years. We expect this thing to hit Verizon stores before the first half of the year is out, but with Verizon, Samsung, and Microsoft all potentially weak links in the delivery chain, we're having a bugger of a time staying positive. Don't let us down, folks!

Good finds, hpnasik and copperco2. Thanks for keeping us abreast of the new technologies.

Wow, Crossbow is Windows Mobile 6.0

Anyway, we can only dream about these phones on Reliance. What say, folks?

Nope Kumaar

We dont have to Dream only.

I have already downloaded AKU3.3 and AKU3.5 the Patched / Hacked Unofficial Upgrade for PPC6700 which look better than the original WinMob 6 with so many Best Software in Extended ROM, Some Stability Issue is there. I have not Tried it on PPC6700.

UTStar will itself ome with AKU3.5 in Mid 2007 which will definately bring down the gap between WinMob 5 & 6

Let Hope for the Best
