Create a New COnnection

Start - Setting - COnnections -Connections - Manage Existing Connections - New

Name = RConnect

Select Modem = Cellular Line

Next

Number = #777

Next

User Name & Password = Mobile Num

Domain = (Dont Type Any thing)

Click to FInish

Now Start the Internet Connection Sharing

Select USB and in Next Box Select RConnect and then Connect

Then Plug the Phone in USB Cradle. Your dont have to Install CDMA Modem Driver it will be now Routed through Active Sync.

thanks for the quick reply. However, i connect thru bluetooth and not thru usb. I tried changing usb to bluetooth pan in the internet connection sharing in the ppc but it doesnt get connected. I will try the wifi once i reach home. Regarding the kse fax software, i had tried before but couldnt get it to work. Pls help.

After Sending and receiving POP3 email we have to close the data connection.

Is it possible to close the connection by default as soon as sending receiving is completed.

I have flashed my PPC 6700 with the above ROM and upgraded to AKU 3.5 without any hassels.

I really appriciate the work done by these people involved in cooking a rom.

I am very happy as my device is now very fast and lot of new features.

hi... I tried the 3.5 upgrade too... certain issues came up...

1. saddemon.exe missing dialogue opens up when the customization begins

2. contacts have disappeared. when selected yeilds nothing

3. selecting the phone key mekes the signal disappear for a bit and the dialer returns to the today screen instead of allowing one to dial

4. somehow ever since I installed activesync my wifi on laptop refuses to connect and as a result cripples my home network completely

... foxed nd looking for answers... though I like the added agility onn the phone but...

Hard Reset the phone... key 1 + key 2 + Reset button using stylus.

when the customization begins saying 3 seconds left... just do the soft reset using stylus

i found it thru ppcgeeks and it worked... but somehow this wifi at home being paralysed becoz of activesync is bugging... havnt installed activrdync again after that... dunno what to do...

I think u have load GSM ROM in it.

You must Clear all Private Data, mails, SMS, Contacts before FLashing it

To clear all Older Format Data Just

Press RIght and Left Action Key Coupled with Reset Key so in Next Boot it will ask

Press y to clear

Then into Slidder Keyboard Press Y and clear Private Data

Then Press Voice Memo Button ( Left Side Top Bitton + Power Button + Reset Key)

This will keep the phone in Boot Loader then Re flash with Kirwin.exe

thx again hetal... the issue got resolved !!! and am now runnign sardi's rom... i like it quite a bit... though still findiing my way around it but still looks pretty good... have to resolve the activesnyc issue where it cripples my laptops wifi and that inturn spoils the wifi network at home... what am i doing wrongly...

besides i have these stereo bt headphones... jabra bt620s and i know that these 3.5 roms have the a2dp hack but somehow when i pair these headphones i can hear stereo sound for a call but no music... what could be the reason... know abt skipping issues in wmp so have tried using mortplayer too but to no luck whatsoever... music resides on the 2gb card...

I've flashed and it is nice to use now.

And one thing when i buy this mobie people in this forum said that the download speed of this pone is 60kbps. But here it is giving only 15kbps at the most. I thought that might be a problem in my local tower but recently i travelled to Bangalore by staying in the hot of the city it again showed the same (15kbps). Even after teh flash it shows 15kbps. Well is 15 normal or do i need to do any tune up?

I have some basic doubts. Since I have never used a Pocket PC before, these might sound stupid to you.

1. Can I download an image or a file using Net connect / wap? If so, how?

2. What is the average battery time you guys are getting?

3. Is there a way to

- Disable notification sounds? Everytime Delhi pops up I hear an alert

- Add additional shortcuts on the today screen without instaling spb or something like that

- Create a shortcut to phone and compose message

- create groups/ distribution lists for sending SMS

Help will be appreiciated.

ofcourse u can download anything u want provided u using the opera browser and not pie while browsing on this handset... battery time depends completely on the way u use the phone... mine lasts more than a day of a lot of smsing... listening to songs thru bt for two hours odd... callin upto an hour... and wifi two or three times a day for mail... but the crux is that i keep the brightness of mine close to minimum and that sure saves battery power... i use the stylus mroe than the keyboard unless smsing when i dont close the keyboard too often while chatting lets say.... then i follow a complete charge - discharge cycle... charge only when i get a 10% warning and then recharge once there again... just my two cents....

for those who wants to back up contacts, SMS, Messages before AKU 3.5 upgrade. Sprite will not allow you to restore back up, this is wonderful.

usually sprite or spb backup do not restore backup when OS is upgraded. And I think none of then back up and restore SMS. This one does.

Since AKU 3.5 do not support active sync mode, it connects as network and some how AVG firewall do not allow activesync to connect handset. As soon as I deactivate firewall, it connects well.

I upgraded AKZU 3.5 has some very good features like excellent speed, better color combination etc.

But I miss following too:

1. Phone pad as entry method.

2. Speed dial button in phone.

3. Removed help.

4. WMODEM.

As the AKU 3.5 OS works as NAT (Network Address Translator) Server

I will not Require WMODEM any more

Just go to Internet Connection Sharing and COnnect the Network and then Connect the USB or Bluetooth PAN using PC the Net will be on

Another Advantage of this is Net is Shared Between Computer and PDA simaltaneouly

I am still unable to use BT PAN.
