copperco2 24 Report post Posted February 17, 2007 (edited) but really.. how many of the people do react after getting unsolicited messeges. today itself i got 15 messeges and none of them was subscribed by me... including 1234. for that matter the KYC (Know your client) rules ask for your contact number, and no sooner have you gven it.. you start gettting messages abt the schemes and all.. i guess if a cautious approach is used in language then one can get away with it. MOBILE FAN 42 Report post Posted March 20, 2007 Whatever you are discussing but one thing is clear that till now there is no law/rule in India and not even heard of such things even in abroad which bans unsolicitated SMSes. Yes it is illegal for unsolicitated calls but not for SMS. Post Edited. Please do not spam the board. Puneet.
copperco2 24 Report post Posted March 24, 2007 well.. i am receiving email from UTI abt various stocks to pick and all. it is spam as i have not subscribed to it. but is it really as all it tends to do is recommed something and not coax me to buy them. like those rzmails@ndiatimes.com. so what exactly constitutes a spam? there is i guess a cell in mumbai police on cyber crimes.. they shoule have something on 'what exactly is termed as spam?' can anybody have any info on that... guys...
