brainbraym 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2008 download file herehttp://rapidshare.com/files/141983264/Treo...pdater.rar.html Thanks for the files. I have the Palm Treo 700p running on Reliance. When I try to use CDMAupdater on this Palm Treo 700p, it resets and does not copy the NVbackup/pdb. Any idea about why this happens. And secondly, if I update the phone with the latest firmware update (1.10a-SPNT) from Palm, will it change the PRL making my phone go back to original Sprint settings. Your help is highly valued and appreciated. Thanks again, BB

brainbraym 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2008 Got ur PM, and u already got files from KSHAH. So all u need is reset ur MSL/SPC to modify ur Data settings using ##3282# Let me know. U have to sync CDMAupdater and language files first to start. Hi, can you elaborate on this part please: 1. Open file with any hex editor, in my phone back up I found important data at following address: SPC: If you want your phone to programmed by *228, then this is important code: 0000F770 MSL, this code is used to access phone nam programming: 0000F670 ESN: Esn found 3 locations, I dont know why, but when I made mistake on one location, phone kept on rebooting when I entered ##MSL# code. SO I changed ESN at all locations. ESN is in reverse 1: 0000CF00 2. 0000CFA0 3. 0000EA40 In Hex how do you identify the Esn and what lines are to be replaced with what? Thanks
dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) ES* will always be in reverse when u check it in hex editor. e.g. if ur ES* is 12B3C588 then u will see it in the file as 88 C5 B3 12. Search like this for your ES* and u should find it at 3 locations and the u can do what u feel like with them (edit them). MSL and SPC will be visible on right hand side as 6 numeric digits, search for 6 numeric digits together, u will find only 2 locations, change to 000000. Address may sometimes vary from phone to phone and hex editor to hex editor. You can also get your SPC by using GetSPC.exe (search it) and feeding your original ES* in input and then note down output - that is ur SPC and then search that 6 digit no. on right hand side of the file in hex editor. And nearby to that SPC, 4-5 rows up or down u will find ur MSL also (also in 6 digit). Edited September 4, 2008 by dkaile

dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) Master Subsidy Lock, it is used to change to Reliance MIN & MSID settings straight from our phone unlike our Mogul where we do that in QPST/CDMA workshop Edited September 4, 2008 by dkaile

Can you tell me if 1.Reliance RSN is the same as the ESN 2.If the original ESN DEC is 98873757378 and ESN HEX 8753979 (Hypothetical). I understand that you have to look for the ESN HEX 3.But what parts of the RSN says (hypothatical) ABC DEF 019256876 will you pick up and how will these pe replaced in the file. Can you please do it here 4. Also, please tell me how to upload the PRL file Thanks again
dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) 1. ESN has nothing to do with RSN. ESN is handset manufacturers number and RSN in service providers identification number 2. Look for ES* Hex in reverse like in your example , u have given wrong example of ES* Hex. It cannot be 7 digit, it is always 8 digit, and u will have to look out for 79 39 75 *8 in your example where * denotes the missing digit. 3. what for u need rsn; u just need to find the 6 digit (numeric) spc and msl. Once u find them on right hand side in hex editor, just edit them to replace. 4. prl is already loaded in the cdma updater file and no need to load any other way. just choose the correct one, as tata has been given separately. BTW - RSN is never used for Authentication. I have seen RSN on Printed on Box of Handsets and not found it any where else. Reliance uses ESN + MIN pair for authentication. Some network also use Akey. SPC is used to unlock phone for OTAP. Edited September 6, 2008 by dkaile

Since the phone has no RUIM how will Reliance know the the authenticity of the numbers owner unless the RSN is fed somewhere? What is the purpose of the RSN? 2. Everytime I try to run CDMA Updater the phone goes into reset mode, so I cannot back up the NV Backup.pdb file. Any suggestions? Is there any other I can get MSL without using a serial cable on Bitpim, etc 3. Why do I need the SPC when I am already running the phone number (I understand the SPC is just to run the link for the first time -isnt that correct?) 4. Since the system resets on every use of CDMA Updater, how else can the PRL be uploaded? 5. Is there any other software like CDMA uploader hat can be used as an alternative. Thanks for all the help

brainbraym 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 Where did u procure ur handset from man, because Sadikk gives with all settings done, and u should not be having such problems... Hi, I picked it in the US and have been playing with it eversince. Sadikk has been very supporting and patient with a Newbie like me. Ok! I have managed to get the SPC and MSL by uploading a older ROM update. The problem now is that the phone shows that (1) I am in roaming and (2) sometimes it works, but often the signal flactuates and caller gets a "not reachable" message. Any suggestions? Also, I would like to configure it for the net - help would really appreciated. Thanks for the support
dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) Read "New to Treo" topic and read post no.2 and do SID and NID and other settings accordingly and roaming and other problems will vanish... and for further problems post in Treo 755p topic, this is not relevant topic for these problems...
