Intrusion Alert On Net Connect

Hi Friends,

I use Kaspersky Internet Security and the Anti Hacker in it gave me this message

Intrusion.Win.MSSQL.worm.Helkern 222.216.222.18 UDP 1434

Any one knows WHY such a message pops up?

Well, you are safe actually and so you need not worry about it as Kaspersky Internet Security has blocked the intrusion attempt from some bot in China it seems. Moreover, it is less likely to affect you as it affects only if you are running an unpatched Windows MS SQL server.

The Port UDP 1434 is being Exploited by Outsider Machine to Gain Access to your system and Potentially Destroy some Query and Database.

Any way As It have been trapped by Kaspersky U are Safe.

But always use Windows Firewall or any Other firewall software on and running while using BSNL PPoE Dialler,

Infact PPoE dialer is very much Risky as It directly open your Machine to Outside World.

My Suggestion is to use NAT based Router / ADSL Modem

ADSL modem with NAT router will not protect from outbound threats...!

I worry for all those people who do not use such good firewall. Reliance should not allow such things to happen.

Reliance or any other ISP is not responsible for securing your terminal against such attacks... you have to take care of your own security. At least no ISP i know of in India keeps the security aspect of their customers in mind ... Even if they did, it can only be done to a v limited extent from their end!
