porushh 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2007 Hi Guys, I am using a Dell laptop with a R-connect card. It was working ok till yesterday afternoon when I uninstalled IDM (Internet Download Mgr) after the 30 day trial period. At the end of the uninstall it warned me that the Pc needed to be rebooted else my internet connection would not work. I did reboot after a while, after that my R-connect when I hit connect just goes to disconnect. I went to device manager where I see a modem and a port. When I hit "query modem", it tells me it is unsuccessful and askes me to check if the port has an irq conflict. When I go to the port it is using and check the irq, it tells me the irq is available. I have tried to unisntall and reinstall, even uninstalled the modem and port manually, then reinstalled the software which creates the modem and port, but the same error occurs. If I now try the same R-connect card on my friend's laptop, it works fine after installing fine. So what has happened on my laptop? How can I solve this? Any help would be appreciated. IDM cannot be uninstalled.... secondly there is no reason for the internet connection to get affected.. bt still if it is the case then.. uninstall rconnect from the system. every single file.. and then re instal it. the problem will be solved. btw just check if you have left any file of IDM on your system..visible to you. and remove it manually..
