I didnot have any such problems.

I could install RD2030 drivers and use RD2130.

You may uninstall earlier drivers if any and then do fresh installation.

But if you follow the instructions while loading RD2030 driver, you should not face any problems.

Good luck.

Hi, I went through it.. but mostly it focuses on hacking phone, which I am not intended to do for time-being.

Yesterday I tried with xppp ... it was trying to initialize the modem but never got response(OK) from my RD2130.. i was connecting to /dev/ttyUSB0 and tried with /dev/usb/ttyUSB0 also... I dont now what could be wrong... also when I do modprobe uhci.. its giving error.. I think its using usb_uhci.o instead of uhci.. tried building kernel also, but no luck errors in building.. push me ahead with few more info...

thanks,

Divakar.

Though the r-connect dialer s/w is ok - i found it best not 2 use it @ all - it installs all kind of unnecessary files on your pc that apart from taking up space (also creating entry in the program list) can get bothersome for techie users who prefer to do it the simpler way.

CAUTION - only for experienced users - I do not take responsibility of any mess you make while you are following these instructions:

here is what i do (assuming u hve a pc free of r-connect s/w - if u hve the s/w - u hve 2 uninstall it and also the modem(phone) drivers)

1. turn pc on

2. plug in yr phone (if u hve usb adapter - if there is serial connector - connect it first nd then turn on pc)

3. wait 4 pc to recognize new hardware (if it dosen't - go 2 control panel - add/remove h/w and search 4 new h/w)

4. when the wizard asks 4 drivers 4 new h/w tell it 2 look in the r-connect cd (in proper location)

5. it will install drivers and then say found new modem - repeat the process -tell it to look in the cd at the correct location

6. create a new dial-up connection with phone no. to call #777, usrnme nd pwd as your rim # with std code but without the 1st 0 eg if yr no. is 08031234561, enter usrnme nd pwd as 08031234561. use tone dialling. modem 2 use - select your rim phone modem - if it does not appear in the list of modems - repeat steps 4-5 till it does.

7. create shortcut on desktop

8. double click on it - connect nd y u ready 2 go

cheers nd njoy

I am facing the same problem....The installer would not enable next button..

PH:2130 XP/2000 USB.

Do suggest something...I tried to follow the other replies but none directed me to the result.

Used USB 2030 cable and software...
