Getting Gmail App To Work On Nokia 6275

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Just discovered, and joined, the group today. I have tried to use the Gmail app on my Nokia 6275, but each time I get a message saying either that the app won't work on my phone because it does not have the appropriate certificate to communicate with the server, or that it needs a data connection. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?

Same experince here....I was able to download the application "Get faster gmail". However when I tried signing in ..it gave me the certificate error. I checked the gmail site and here what it says in FAQs although not much useful

Why do I get a security / certificate error when I go to Gmail from my mobile browser?

Some phones display an "Invalid certificate" or "Could not verify domain" message when attempting to connect to Gmail. This may mean that your phone doesn't meet the minimum requirements needed to access Gmail for mobile browser.

Minimum Requirements

---------------------------

What are the minimum phone requirements for Gmail for mobile browser?

Your phone will need to meet these minimum requirements in order to access Gmail for mobile web browsers:

Your phone's web browser must be XHTML compliant. To determine whether your browser is compatible, please point it to www.google.com/xhtml and perform a search. If it doesn't work, your browser may not be XHTML compliant.

Your phone's browser must have cookies enabled and your mobile network must also allow cookies. The setting for cookies is usually located in your phone's browser settings. Additionally, you'll need to contact your mobile service provider to determine if they allow cookies on their network.

Your mobile phone network must allow secure SSL traffic. You'll need to contact your mobile provider to check this too.

Gmail app works on my 6235. I installed it using the Minibrowser. The only problem is it is installed in the carrier subfolder (where all R-World applications are downloaded and installed), and the only way to access is through the mini browser. I have tried all my might to move it to Collection folder, but haven't succeeded yet.
