rajeshkatiyar 3 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Dear Friends In UP Hutch has started charging customer care calls 50 paisa per minute. I am sure Reliance will do it soon Reliance have lot of complaints, and one has to make lot of customer care calls to get something done. I think this will be a major source of revenue for Reliance. Lastly thanks to Congress Government Regards
ani_meher 42 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Is this true??? if yes, then really a shame. can TRAI authorize such charges?
raccoon 53 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Great, now Telcos have good incentive to make things messier than they already are! More complaints will mean more revenue! Well, Hutch is the only operator AFAIK who doesent have a toll-free helpline in Maharashtra circle. They are also said to have one of the worst customer service. It was one of the reasons why I didnt even consider Hutch as an option for my new GSM connection...
Kunal Hemrajani 1 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 If its true.. then..TRAI shud do something to check this..
KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 If they charge will they be able to answer calls immediately or will they put us on unlimited hold music and go on charging us for hearing their stupid hold music. Hope RCL wakes up soon and starts charging Re 2.65 per minute for customers calling customer care. As it is, theirs must be the only one among a few cell operators with the highest number of calls to customer care because of myriad customer problems with the service provider. This way their ARPU will become the highest in the world and ADA will beat even Bill Gates and become the world's richest man beating MDA also. Thanks
@ksh@T 20 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 hey cant believe it........ please members from that area please confirm it ... it wil be quite messy for all of the telecom industry if it happens ......
petar 15 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Nonsense- by Dafault all customer care calls are mandated by trai to be toll free if called from Same operaotr service eg. *333 frorm reliance free but 30333333 from MTNL is allowed to be charged. Sameway this guy would have come across some number to call from BSNL numbers. There would be an alternate Toll free number to call from.
raccoon 53 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 (edited) Nopes. Hutch (Maharashtra) does not have any toll free number. If you dont believe me, you can check it out on their web site also. I confirmed that with Hutch customer care also! One good thing about Hutch is their website - updated with the latest plans and fairly comprehensive info! FWIW, Idea CC, which I have been finding extremely difficult to get thru does not work at night after 11! And thruout the day the lines are mostly busy! AFAIK, CC of most/all telcos work 24/7 ...but Idea has its own ideas I guess... But problem is its v difficult to ignore Idea if you want the best GSM coverage and if you want to save on tariffs ...it seems to be the dominant operator in Poona... And lets not get into what TRAI mandates ...TRAI has also mandated that they cannot charge migration fees. And at least RIM and Hutch are openly charging for that! In fact you will find it mentioned even on their websites! Ya ...they may be naming it different... Edited April 18, 2007 by raccoon
vmsanghrajka 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 In mumbai circle, all operators have toll free helpline including hutch
Greens 21 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Most of the operators have different contact center numbers for each circle. Very few, may be only reliance and airtel have got a single toll free contact center accessible anywhere from the country.
KingofKalyan 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 I think it would be a rumour to reduce some call flow in Hutch Call centres....(up circle)

raccoon 53 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 One of the simplest (not always) and most concrete things to do is to not be a subscriber of such operators... As for TRAI ....does it even read emails???
