jpatalia 1 Report post Posted May 11, 2007 i intend to get a blackberry 8830 with ruim from the usa. this phone will be locked to work on verizon network. this is basically a hybrid phone. i intend to use it on reliance cdma as well as hutch gsm. can this phone work on reliance cdma ? Nirvana 4 Report post Posted May 11, 2007 Even though it has a RUIM slot, since you say it is locked to Verizon Wireless network, it won't work with Reliance then. Unlocking handset is not illegal, anywhere in the world, unless one has not paid operator as per contract. Also remember that operator can lock handset any time OTA.
