Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 Hi guys I want to purchase a data card for my laptop, so that I can access Internet anywhere. I hv 2 options in my city: Reliance OR Tata. Reliance speed isnt good since past few months and Tata users are getting good speed here. So I'm planning to get Tata card. But following are a few factors, for which I want ur opinions: 1. Reliance provides unlimited plans for data cards but Tata doesnt provide any unlimited plan. It provides 512 MB or 1 GB limits. Currently there is a plan! If we purchase a data card before 15th May, we can get 5 GB limit for 3 months. 2. I read at tata site that the limit includes upload as well as downloads. So pls suggest me should I go for Tata card? Is anyone using it here? Will it a good deal? thnx in advance. pls guys, provide ur suggestions quickly coz I hv only one day left! Sadikk 301 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 IMHO dont buy either TATA or RM. I can see lots of people not happy with their DATA cards. Ill suggest u to buy RUIM based handset instead and try both, this way u can anytime change ur ISP and if at all u want to dump it, u can get good resale of handset also. supernova 47 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 dont know about other cities but here reliance usb card is giving very good speed then tata . i am using for last 4 months . its pretty good and here many people left tata and airtel and opted for this card. but you check again speed in ur city . both reliance and tata can give demo at ur place . i am not technically sound but heard that reliance mobile n fwp gives speed of 115 kbps n usb card of 230 kbps (i know these are ideal conditions , but still if it makes some diff. in selection). i am totally unstaisfied with reliance fwp for net though. KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 @munnamobile, Only Nokia RUIM handsets have capability of changing SIMs of either TATA or RCL. All other handsets of Classic are network locked to RCL. I dont know about LG as yet. In any case, LG is no longer available at Rel. outlets.

Dr.Gagan 17 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 (edited) ^^^^^^^^ Hi Vishal ! i am using USB data card on reliance......... It does go in dormancy mode 2. There is no disturbance on swiching on/off electric equipment 3.Speed varies on place and time of day . i get good speed in my office where as speed in my home is pathetic..........signals in both places are maximum bars on data card as well as on my reliance3 phone I would suggest you to check speed on reliance / Tata Mobile in the place where you will use it most .........and decide acc to me data card speed mirrors the speed you are getting on mobile ( NOKIA )........with usb cable. Bye Edited May 15, 2007 by drsoham

manubatham2006 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2007 Vishal, why u don't use the plan tata gives with its postpaid, no data card just 1500(montly unlimited use of internet)+200 (minimum rental with 50 rs. of calls). I am using LSP 350 T (Tata) and got a just tripple speed than reliance. In working hours tata give amazing speed. Imagine i download 100 mb in just 2:30 hours. Its good enough. I am using 10pm to 6 am free plan by just giving 350/- per month. Dissconnection are the problem of usb and equipment both. My LG 6130 don't disconnect while swithching on off electrical equipments with serial cable, but with LSP 350T if the light fluctuates a redial window comes after the fluctuation. I got another thing that if u not charging ur set then it makes no effect on it. So first full charge ur LSP 350 R and then use continuous net without disconnections.
