Like we said earlier we have to make all the user registed to make sign some agreement. Then rimweb wont be responsible for users who make wrong usage of it. Code 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2004 emmi I think U missed the point there... Even if the user agrees for anything still RIMWEB/it's owner can be held responsible for allowing to hold such discussions under it's premises. It's similar to the consequences of allowing users to post "warez"/Pirated softwares on your site. The problem is a bit complex

swaroop 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2004 gosh. cant we move the cloning discussion to some private site.. there are lotza discussion boards sites for free.. where every body is anonymous.. ?? i dont think RIM would go for catching people by IP's.. it doesnt have time to catch its own cheaters who dont pay billls on time )
Mahidhar 3 Report post Posted June 30, 2004 correct me if im wrong ... in india since most of us use a dialup connection, we dont have a static ip ... do we ? that means each time we logon, we get a different ip address so unless a company coordinates with the ISP to trace the user, there no way it can find out who the user is ... unwantedmails 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 Guys I am just thinking one thing... If Arun got notices/threats/messages from RIM to stop talking about CLONNING then it obviously means Responsible People at RIM Read this website and our Posts. Was just wondering WHY ---- WHY they only notice CLONNING and Why is it that they dont give a damn about all those posts which are Grievances and Major Issues about their Service. Analyzing The Mindset of the Guy at RIM who reads our Ports.. Problem.........naaahhh Grievances.....naaahhh Bad Service....naaahhh Bill Delays.....naaahhh Bad Customer Service.....naaahhh Clonning....... NAIL THE ****ERS !!! -PCOGuy

rEdshiFt 1 Report post Posted October 12, 2004 Is clonning illegal? Really? Why? Are there acutally laws preventing this? I love all the stuff they put out here - I learn so much from it - as does so most of the other people here! Sharing information is good! And RIM and all the other mother$#* cannot stop it with the advent of the internet. And banning of Yahoo! Groups - yeah thats smart! Therefore we should ban the following discussions and activities:1. Bitpim and downloading/uploading ringtones & logos! 2. Field Code keys 3. AKEY codes etc etc I know a place where such talks are NOT RESTRICTED.Its The Google Groups. - alt.phreaking http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&...p=alt.phreaking looks this post could use a new msg....its been two months !! i coudnt agree more w anujit..like i started with one new curious word "cloning" and now i got 'Bitpim', 'Field Code keys', 'AKEY codes'...more new words to work on and im googlin on it right now...i guess thats how info spreads..LONG LIVE THE INTERNET I HOPE THERE IS SOME WAY OF WORKIN THIS WHOLE LEGAL OUT.....do we have any updated news from the elders ? or r we gonna close down this thread ? Beetle 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 Do you know the number of quality posts that have been deleted by this forum, that too without notice. (you are a newB) When you start a discussion forum its an unstated agreement that you will respect the effort put by others to share information, and not hide all posts. Dont take this personally, the only reason I have bitterness for the forum is when I was naive about CDMA and needed information, I was told it was "Archived" and "Banned" , so I had to go the circuitous route to get the information. There has not been an ounce of creativity in this forum for months.. trust me!! Most of the posts are being deleted based on personal vendettas, this is a red flag. Its illegal a topic, its banned and its out of anyone's reach other than those ppl who used to discuss it. They r kind enuf not to discuss it. U know we will never support that kinda activity and we hope u'd be here, keeping in mind, the guidelines of this forum. I wouldn't like to delve more into this issue, coz we've already had a word/s wid u over this for a lot "many" times. And we have made our stand clear to u. There is no point in trying to raise issues again n again over things that are clearly spelled out to you! we hope to see you at the forums in a more constructive manner! I am sure there's clear distinction about the technical discussion and illegal one. Cheers ...............................
