jmthakur 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 I just purchased a Nokia Bluetooth headset BH202. Despite trying a lot, I cannot get it working with my 6265. I tried to pair it but it is not recognised through the search. I tested the headset with another Nokia mobile (GSM) - E61 and it worked perfectly. Can anyone please help. I did search the topics for bluetooth and generally found that users are facing problems for bluetooth connectivity to some extent but no mention could be found by me about headset. Is my money gone down the drain?! Please help. Thanks in advance.

jmthakur 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 Thanks Chirag, but I solved the issue. Since I had myself raised this issue, let me reply and close this issue for all concerned. I am giving a detailed reply because the user manual is misleading and the Nokia call center staff is ignorant (sorry to sound like this). The problem was in two aspects - one my mistake, one of the hardware. The headset that i bought was not charging properly and hence i got it exchanged and the new one was ok and i had to wait for about 3 hours to get it charged fully. Then, the requirement was that i had to press the multifunction button at two levels. at the first level, when i keep it pressed for about 4 seconds, a green light steadily blinking comes. at this stage, surprisingly, it connects with other nokia mobiles and you can use it!!!! however, to use it with 6265, you have to keep it pressed for another 4 seconds or so and then a steady green light comes on. it is at this stage only that the headset can connect to 6265 and it did. i do not know why all this but this is how i finally resolved it. so, for information of all, a blue tooth headset does work with 6265. incidentally, i talked to nokia call center help line before this. they told me that this headset is not compatible! i referred the manual. it says that in the phone->enhancement menu, there should be an headset option. But the 6265 (at least mine) does not have such an option! the user manual says that this is the way you have to get connected. actually, all the above is not required. you have to just switch the blue tooth "on" on the mobile and switch on the headset as above and then simply pair the device in the blue tooth menu. it recognises! i am now using it happily! one issue remains unresolved. the mobile does not recognise it automatically and pair it as soon as i switch on the headset. i have to connect it each time. but there is an option in the mobile blue tooth menu where i can set it to connect automatically. though i have enabled it. still it does not recognise it automatically. strangely, my partner's e61 connects automatically to this very headset!! anyway, thanks to this forum.
