FlaminPhoenix 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2007 Uh...Hello guys, this is my first post on this forum.Ill cut to the chase ok? I am using a LG-LSP 350 R fixed phone for connecting to the internet.I normally get a speed(max) of 15kbps-17kbps, even if i use a download manager or a torrent client. Reliance says their phone is capable of upto 115200bps, That amounts to 110kbps....right?...so why am i getting this speed difference?....is there any way of increasing my speed?...I am sick and tired of the current speeds...Please help!! raccoon 53 Report post Posted May 28, 2007 Where do they say its "capable of 1152000 bps"? Besides being capable is different from what they are promising which is again different from what you may actually get. The 1152000 bps u'v mentioned seems to be the port speed or something. AFAIK, RIM promises something like 115 or 145 kbps on its phones (perhaps somebody here will know the exact speed ...and will post). Considering that, the 15 - 17 kBps you are getting seems close to what you can get. Using a download manager or whatever cannot increase your speed beyond the max. speed possible ...ie. if your input bandwidth is already saturated.
FlaminPhoenix 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2007 But i saw a guy in here say that his speed was 110 kbps...i dont get this speed limit thing...anyone care to elaborate?....PLEASE?
Puneet 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2007 Please check if your speeds are actually 15kbps or 15kB/s.
nitinmukesh123 11 Report post Posted May 29, 2007 Please check if it is 115200 bps or 1152000 bps as you mentioned. If it is 115200 bps then you are getting the correct speed.. 115200 bits/s 14400 bytes/s 14 KBytes/s

Puneet 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2007 Reliance does mentions the maximum download speed in the netconnect section of their website as 144kbps. Actual speed that you get is function of numerous other factors, and one of them is the phone. Most of the LG phones connect to computer using a serial interface and thus support a maximum speed of 115kbps, where as most of the Nokia (DKU-2) and Samsung phones have a native USB interface and thus can support the networks maximum speed. Search these forums and you will find a lot of discussion on data speeds on Reliance networks.
