How To Setup Zte Mc315 On Suse Linux?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to setup ZTE MC315 card on SUSE linux for Reliance Rconnect service.

Can anyone please guide me how to go about this?

I have Linux kernel 2.6.13-15.8 on OpenSUSE 10.0. My version of pcmciautils is pcmciautils-014.

Contents of my /etc/wvdial.conf files are:

[Dialer Defaults]

Modem = /dev/ttyS3

Baud = 57600

Init1 = ATZ

Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2

Init3 =

Area Code =

Phone = #777

Username = <username>

Password = <password>

Ask Password = 0

Dial Command = ATDT

Stupid Mode = yes

Compuserve = 0

Force Address =

Idle Seconds = 300

DialMessage1 =

DialMessage2 =

ISDN = 0

Auto DNS = 1

Carrier Check = no

Modem Type = Analog Modem

*****

When I configure PPP and execute wvdial command, it gives me this result:

wvdial

--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.54.0

--> Initializing modem.

--> Sending: ATZ

--> Sending: ATQ0

--> Re-Sending: ATZ

--> Modem not responding.

*****

Dmesg output shows :

ttyS3: detected caps 00000700 should be 00000100

ttyS3 at I/O 0x2e8 (irq = 3) is a 16C950/954

****

Can anyone please suggest me ways to overcome this?

I would highly appreciate your response.

Regards,

Nikhil.
