Chirag 5 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 All over india - This is how TRAI wanted to segregate operator wise starting nos. for BASIC telecom operators. The prefix for each operator's landlines are 2- MTNL /BSNL 3- Reliance 4- Bharti(can someone confirm this?) 5- TATA(hughes) forgot the rest! Now the ones, that went for Unified Licensing Regime will have to go for Level 9 i.e. 10 digit nos. Sopes 92-Bharti 93-Reliance 94-BSNL 97-TATA 98-Rest of the small players! Once reliance goes onto 10-digit scheme, its landlines will still have eight digit nos. with prefix "3" This 98 Series is absolutely confusing. Its got all criss-crossed now! In Mumbai, Cellular Operators fell short of the access levels given to them, and Hence new levels were given to them... See wht happens here! Orange(Hutch) - 9820x / 9819x BPL Mobile - 9821x / 9870x MTNL - 9869x Airtel - 9892x
