Web2SMS Service from Tata Indicom

I got a mail from Tata Indicom today and it contained information about a new service from Tata "Web2SMS".

Now with Web2SMS service, all Tata Indicom postpaid Mobile and Walky customers can send SMSes from Tata Indicom website. Just login with your mobile/Walky number, type the SMS, enter the mobile numbers you want to send the SMS to and click send! Sending SMS to a group of people is now one click away!

  • Easy to use website
  • Password protected access
  • Upload mobile numbers via excel sheet
  • Send SMS on a scheduled date
  • View sent SMS history

Who can use Web2SMS?

  • Tata Indicom postpaid mobile customers
  • Tata Indicom postpaid Walky customers

How to start using Web2SMS?

  • Go to the webpage www.tataindicom.com/web2sms
  • Click on "New users sign up". Enter your first name, last name and a valid postpaid Tata Indicom number for one-time registration
  • Password will be sent via SMS on to your phone
  • You can now login with your postpaid Tata Indicom number and this password and start sending SMSes. We recommend that you change your password once you login.
  • Recipient will see the sender's mobile/Walky number which was used for login

[Username= Postpaid Tata Indicom mobile (92xxxxxxxx) or Walky (22xxxxxxxx for Mumbai users)

Password= password received on your phone]

What are the Charges?

  • No registration or subscription charge
  • Separate per SMS charge as mentioned below. (This charge is irrespective of the postpaid plan)

SMS sent/month || Charges Rs/ SMS

0-300 sent/month || 1.00 Rs/SMS

301-1000 sent/month || 0.75 Rs/SMS

>1000 sent/month || 0.50 Rs/SMS

My dear friend to me it seems a little bit costly. But this kind of service must be beneficial to other subscribers of TATA.

Reliance should also consider launching the same as soon as possible.

I dont think this service is gonna work for Tata indicom as its quite costly .... as far as sending sms from PC goes i use Chikka

it rocks ... works very well daily u can send 10 sms free to any mobile in India..

all these r tactics ;) to mint money from the subscribers..

Nice service..

bt i gt 3000 smses free on my tata connection every month..

but its of no use as i cannot count thes sms in thos 3000 smses..

Subscribers not giving info about SMSes used is really bad ...but I think its imperative that ALL handset manufactureres give this function of being able to count the SMS traiff. It will also help in tallying the count by the operator. Unfortunately only a few handsets have this function... ;) Its really amazing how makers of fancy and complex handsets miss out on so many basic functions...

This is the most Costly Web2SMS i have ever seen

Currently i am using some Delhi Provider @ 15 paise all India SMS with 5000 minimum sms a MOnth
