Puneet 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2007 My parents old LG 2130 needs urgent replacement, and I was thinking of getting the new low-priced Classic handsets. But the new Classic phones available only with a new number (or so the WW people told me). Is there a way that I can tranfser my old number to the classic handsets? KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted June 16, 2007 When I had enquired about a month back, I was told I can use my existing number on the Classic phone. However when I wne t and saw the Classic phones, I was dejected by its sheer lack of quality. I would suggest you to go in for a LG either new or old - they are far better than Classic. Another route is that you go to the RCL outlet and ask them for LG phones, if they deny it you, call up *333 right from there and complain. They (*333) will ensure that the store supplies you, your required LG phone. This is as was promised to me by *33 when I complained that I am not interested in Classic phones and that I would like to terminate my account with RCL, then they gave this info. RCL has asked all outlets to stop displaying and selling LG phones so that their stock of the lousy Classic is fully sold out. You can do as you desire. Hope the above info is useful to you. Puneet 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2007 I have to anyway terminate that number by end of July, and I need a handset only for 40 days or so. Classic serves my purpose if I can get it for Rs.

Puneet 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2007 I did that, and the cheapest non-provisioned handset available without a new connection is for 1500 something. Anyway, I purchased a classic handset with the cheapest pre-paid gsk, and instead of activating the handset with the new GSK, I used a HCC to transfer my old number to the new handset, and then activated the GSK on my old handset. Total cost of transaction 968/- Everyone was happy this way, Reliance got to increase its subscriber number by one dummy customer who is never going to use the new pre-paid connection, and I got a cheap handset. supernova 47 Report post Posted June 19, 2007 there is no rule like you have to buy a gsk pre or post compulsarily with classic handset . infact all classic handsets comes unprovisoned . and its your wish to buy it blank to retain old number or use it with a new pre or post gsk . and if any ww/wwe is not giving blank sets . you can complain at *333 or with regional reliance commercial office
supernova 47 Report post Posted June 19, 2007 but thats wrong practice by ww/wwe if they are not providing sets to existing customers which is against company's policy
