copperco2 24 Report post Posted July 4, 2007 I have got a triband connection at my home. I have been surfing nearly all day, with some intervals. Now the thing is that my logs are maintained by the ISP (MTNL). I noticed that my logs in the day at the time, google WA was active have not been recorded. It is beneficial for me. but is this the real thing (google says it accelerates the web page loading by proxy settings(!) and pre fetching and all..). or is an illusion for me. guys pl. help, if you have any idea.. Also what about the Intranet Settings. MAny times i fill in the user name and password in some of the other forums and it repeatedly kept asking me for the same as well as the message bar woule appear telling me abt the default intranet settings bing off.. right now i have enabled the intranet settings, which has solved the problem. i.e. i get logged in the forums and it takes considerably less time to load the page thru the Google Web Accelerator. This might be just another case of what we call as "Golden Hour" GSV might be able to tell you more about it as my technical knowledge is close to zilch. But one useful advice I can give you is, dont rely to much on this, MTNL might throw up a huge bill on your face anyday. What plan are you using by the way? did you try 849 one? cracker 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2007 (edited) it is specially made to enhance surfing experience for users with slow broadband connection 64kbps-128kbps. other wise it has no use. And it will not do any improvement for 2mbps user if u want to use same caching technology than switch to linux and install squid proxy. Same proxy server is used by google.
