Code 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 I was planningto get the software of my LG RD 7130 "upgraded". But I am worried that I read in a thread on this forum that upgrade causes more problems So what do U ppl who upgraded the soft suggest ?? BTW I contacted their cust care as my Messaging menu (MMS webmail and Greetings) always say that R-World not ready) was not working - they said ugrading the s/w is the only option. - Did any one face his prob ? Code 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2004 Sorry - Don't consider me bumping and ban me I saw that R world is now providing India TV and also I saw that there are more option like moving pics etc in Messaging Menu - I can't access them Any one else with similar problems ? Chirag 5 Report post Posted June 8, 2004 Its always better to get ur phone upgraded for better future options to be accessible on the fone, unless u want to play arnd with other tweaking of the fone, which might get restricted with the newer versions. Otherwise, upgrades are always recommendable! And be sure to get a receipt before handing over the fone to the service center guys if they ask u to keep the fone overnite and get another reciept with the date clearly mentioned when u took the fone back, to avoid any billing problems(overcharging) or unauthorised usage of the fone! Code 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2004 I did upgrade my software along with my phone board Yes with the s/w upgrade Excess Battery drain is fixed. I think my battery consumption now is almost 1/5 th of what it was before and the handset doesn't heat that much. R-World is much faster. solves most of the R_world problems Voice clarity has improved. Signal strength has improved only marginally. (7130 is always bad in this as compared to 2030/2130) In SMS all I can see is a slight change in the animation bitmaps other than that the stupid SMS probs still persist. One LG felolow told me (unofficially) that it is a hardware problem and unlikely to be solved. Marginal improvement in display resolution (smoothening). Decreased frequency of unexpected Reboots. Many problems like SMS, Not ringing on a call etc are still persisting. Also the data speed has not improved as compared to samsung sets. Mebbe a bit late, but just thought id put my two cents in : anytime you have such probs with the 7130, switch it off (and take out the battery for good measure) and switch it on again. Ganesh 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 Hey code, upgrade to RD713F17. it is available with LG now. the new software is marvellous as the reception is much better and clearer.also the phone is less buggier now.reception is almost comparable to nokia now.and battery life is much much higher than what it used to be.LCD has become sharper.and use bitpim for all the software changes needed in the phone.
