This year, smart phone PDA market is expected to touch 4 lakh," Deshpande said. Samsung Duo supports data speed of 153 kilo bytes per second. The handset has 'panchang' and touch screen facilities. The set has been launched in silver. As the market picks up, the company would look at launching Duo in other colours, Deshpande said. Source

kesav 127 Report post Posted August 6, 2007 (edited) Tech2.com has good details as well as few working pics.http://www.tech2.com/india/news/smart-mobi...the-duo/11281/0 Seems good phone to me, but switching it off for using GSM s**ks. still, touchscreen mp3 player at 12k is not bad! This phone belongs to second generation of dual phones that means it doesn't need any restart. In the manual, it says just press a down key in idle and select the network. As simple as that. I've very important question to all you folks. Is is better than Nokia 6275? Edited August 6, 2007 by kesav
KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted August 6, 2007 Any day, both connections remaining active would be preferable rather than pressing the down key and selecting networks. This is something akin to the dual SIM connection which is available for maybe Rs 50 onwards, wherein you insert two SIMs and then rotate the connections by switching on and off your mobile. Instead it is better to carry two mobiles. Sadiqbhai's dual mode phone supports both active connections and one can hold RIM while taking another call on your Hutch number or maybe you can initiate a conference also this way. (not too sure, though) So friends, search for a phone which offers both active connections rather than a phone supporting only one active connection. Technology has advanced a lot now so why go back to the old days.
mrasool 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2007 Also I spoke to samsung helpline they are not aware about availability of data cable. THey promised me to revert with information in a day or two. Dont spend on this phone. Yes, Samsung has an old habit of doing this to their customers. If you look up an old post of mine, I had even posted pictures of a serial data cable for Samsung phones that was available for less than 2 months. Then they suddenly took the cable off the market for fear of people cloning their phones. To this date, Samsung has not released any cable or any English/Hindi language software for any of the old phones. And they still haven't released any software for this phone. So please do not buy this phone until they make available the requisite cable and software.

Star Nirav 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2007 probably Reliance is back with LG and it will launch dual mode in 1 month.::: Comment added by Star Nirav ::: <<<< I dont consider LG as aggressive player compare with SAMSUNG. You may never see any improved features in LG. Even Customer Care is also not upto the mark... >>>>> hi ppl did any one try the samsung fone with ril card ? me a ril user.. wanted to change d fone.. so wanted to b sure. .if the fone will support ril ? Nope... Sorry, till now, no any news / innovation has been come up which can unlock DUO for RUIM... I think, we have to keep patience. One more thing, may be consider as an Idea : If one operator is having GSM and CDMA network then they should have this feature to change from GSM to CDMA or vice versa. Or they should do tie-up with some operators... Cheers !!!
